My writing

I'm working on it! More coming soon...

To date I've been fortunate enough to have my writing praised and acknowledged in a number of different writing forums: I won the First Pages prize of the Historical Novels Society of Australasia (2017) and my short story 'Fare the well' has recently been shortlisted at the HNSA Conference and has been published in Backstory e-magazine (you can read it for free below); my early draft manuscript of 'The Book Lovers'  was longlisted for the Richell Award (Hachette) in 2018, and it also awarded me a mentorship through the Australian Society of Authors in 2019.

These wonderful opportunities have encouraged me to keep working on my writing craft and develop my work-in-progress. Although my writing tends to be historically-inspired, I have written in a variety of genres and continue to be interested in reading and writing across the literary spectrum.

Previously, I've blogged with some wonderful friends from the Romance Writers of Australia for the RWA website, and as Marketing Coordinator for HNSA I have had the opportunity to interview and write articles involving some wonderful historical fiction authors. You can find some of these pieces on my blogs page.

I have now finished my first full manuscript of a novel and I'm doing research for my next.

If you would like to hear more about my writing and progress, please feel free to subscribe to my quarterly newsletter.

Best wishes,

Lou
